Community Support Programs is a public housing agency that helps provide decent and safe rental housing for eligible low-income families, the elderly, and persons with disabilities. Community Support Programs manages several funded programs and has a total of 60 subsidized affordable housing units for rental assistance. Community Support Programs administered a total of 58 Section 8 Vouchers. Community Support Programs currently has Section 8 as its program type. Community Support Programs, Inc. began its work in 1990 with homeless men and women in Northwest Louisiana diagnosed with severe and persistent mental illnesses. In 1996, we broadened our scope to include abused and neglected children and their families. Today, CSP serves over 975 families each year in the parishes surrounding Shreveport-Bossier.
